Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH)
AUTH is the largest Greek University consisting of 45 Departments covering all scientific & technological disciplines. The Lab for Thin Films–Nanosystems & Nanometrology (LTFN) is established in the Physics Department of AUTh and it is internationally acknowledged as a specialist in Thin Films Technology, Nanometrology, and in the development of novel optical sensing techniques. Over the last fifteen years, it has coordinated many EU & National projects and leads a Network of Labs in AUTh. LTFN has pioneered in Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (SE) techniques from IR to FUV region and especially for the in-situ and real-time optical monitoring of thin film deposition processes onto rigid inorganic (ISOTECH BRITE Project, BRPR-CT96-0265) and flexible polymeric (TransMach GROWTH Project, GRD1-2000-25437). LTFN has extensive experience in the development and encapsulation of ultra high barrier nano-layers onto flexible polymeric substrates for organic electronics applications and in the investigation of their optical and functional properties by intelligent optical sensing methods (Flexonics STREP Project, NMP3-CT2005-013883).
